Bridge Constructor: A Physics-Based Simulation-Puzzle Game

Bridge Constructor is a physics-based simulation-puzzle game that challenges players to build bridges that can support the weight of traffic. The game was developed by Headup Games and is available on PlayStation 4. It is the first installment in the Bridge Constructor series.

The game consists of 64 levels in six different settings, each with a distinct initial layout of objects and ravine shape. The physics engine of the game considers many laws of physics, including the weight of materials and the forces that act on them. There are four types of materials that players can use to construct their bridges: weak and cheap wood, expensive and robust steel, flexible cables, and concrete pillars. Some levels do not allow players to use all of these materials. Players must build their bridges to be durable enough to support the weight of traffic and fit within a budget given to them on every level. If vehicles destroy parts of the bridge, those parts are highlighted in red to help players see where they need to make improvements. Each level has three difficulty levels that are represented by types of vehicles driving over the bridge: Car, Truck, and Tank Truck. Some levels have additional objects that add to the challenge.

The Steam version of the game includes SlopeMania, a full-sized add-on that features new levels, settings, and game mechanics.
